Inter IKEA Systems B.V. is the owner of the intellectual property rights in the IKEA Concept and the worldwide IKEA franchisor. The company has the responsibility to ensure that the IKEA Concept stays attractive and competitive while enabling growth and a profitable business for IKEA franchisees.
Today IKEA is present in 52 countries. All IKEA stores and other customer meeting points are operated by franchisees, with the exception of the IKEA Store in Delft, which is owned by Inter IKEA Systems B.V. There are 12 different groups of companies that own and operate IKEA customer meeting points under franchise agreements.
