Persbericht WIPO: "In view of the amendments to Article 5 of the Madrid Protocol and Rule 39 of the Common Regulations, which were adopted by the Assembly of the Madrid Union at its thirty-seventh session on October 3, 2006, and which came into force with immediate effect, the International Bureau is in the course of updating the Guide to the International Registration of Marks under the Madrid Agreement and the Madrid Protocol.
Those revisions will be reflected shortly in the electronic version of the Guide, which is published on WIPO’s internet site.
The Assembly also adopted certain additional amendments to the Common Regulations, with effect from April 1, 2007. Those will be reflected in the electronic version of the Guide as from that date and will be incorporated, along with the amendment to Article 5 of the Protocol and Rule 39 of the Common Regulations, in the next hard copy edition of the Guide, which will be issued on that occasion.
An information notice will be issued shortly by the International Bureau featuring full details of amendments in question.
